Dolch Primer Games
We have put together several different Flash games to help kids practice the Dolch words in the Primer list.
These games will help with word recognition and spelling. The primer list is usually covered in Kindergarten.
The Dolch Primer list contains 52 words and it follows on from the pre-primer list, which children should master first. The 52 words in the Dolch
prier list are: he, was, that, she, on, they, but, at, with, all, there, out, be, have, am, do, did, what, so,
get, like, this, will, yes, went, are, now, no, came, ride, into, good, want, too, pretty, four, saw, well, ran,
brown, eat, who, new, must, black, white, soon, our, ate, say, under, please.
Dolch Word Primer Memory Games

This is the simplest set of games to start off with. The Dolch primer list has been divided up
so that each game covers between 12 and 18 words in order of frequency. So if you've just started
learning the words in the Dolch primer list, start with the first game.

Dolch Word Primer Matching Game

This game is great for revising and practicing all the words on the Dolch primer list. You will
get ten words at random from the list, so you will need to play it a few times to cover the whole
list. The game is meant to be for two players but it works fine with just one player.

Dolch Word Primer Spelling Game
You can choose the speed you want to work at on the first screen. You will then be presented
with ten words from the Dolch primer list, one at a time. You will hear the word and you have to
click the letter tiles to spell it. It's not too hard, as only the letters in the word are shown,
you just have to get the order right!

Dolch Word Primer Jigword Game
This is a slower paced game than the matching and spelling games. Click a speaker to hear the
word. The speaker will turn blue so you don't forget which one you just clicked. Find the word on
the right hand side and drag it over to the matching speaker until it clicks into place. Each time
you replay you'll get a fresh list of ten words picked at random from the Dolch primer list.
